Posthuman (Seed, Skam)
Posthuman are London based cousins Rich Bevan and Joshu Doherty. The duo first began writing music together at the age of 15 with old drum machines and an array of second hand electronics. They were given their first break by Manchester's Skam Records in 1999 and debuted in the scene with a live set at the infamous Compression night supporting Altern8 and Gescom and a first release on the label, Auberginetix Ping.
Soon after, Joshu and Rich relocated to London to step things up a gear, founding Seed Records in 2000 and launching the label with their debut album Uncertainty of the Monkey. It was around this time that the duo started to put on the now legendary Underlondonground sessions held at a disused tube station in Aldwych. This provided the perfect platform for Posthuman for regular master classes in live electronics, joined by just about anyone who is anyone, Aphex Twin, Luke Vibert, Funkstorung, Richard X, Plaid, the list goes on.
Since then the boys have cultivated Seed, releasing records from the likes of Ardisson, as well as bringing out a self-titled EP in March 2002 and a second full length album Lagrange Point in 2003. The cousins continue to run Seed Records as well as playing shows frequently across the UK and Europe with their live sets showcasing their more aggressive, dance floor tendencies, away from the experimentation and introspection of their albums.
