Cultek (Touchin Bass)
Cultek is the considerable combined force of Londoner's, Rob Smith and Phil Bolland. Neither are newbies to the electro community - Phil is best known for his work as Sync 24, releasing his debut solo 12" on Andrea Parker's Touchin' Bass imprint whilst Robert promotes the dizzyingly good electro night Scand (formerly held in the legendary London venue, Fortress II). Scand is known for being one of the best electro nights in the UK and has played host to the likes of electro legends Bolz Bolz and Bitstream.
Their dedication to the electro cause led to their first release on the TB imprint, The Human Interface EP. The record was a 2004 favourite, finding it's way into many a Djs box and being hammered out from soundsystems all over the UK and beyond. The four tracks on the EP showcase electro in it's most minimal and atmospheric - winning Dj support from the likes of Dj Rolando, Scape One, Laurent Garnier and the Plump Djs, to name but a few! They have since had their music released as part of the 2004 'Nobody's Perfect' compilation and have a track lined up on the forthcoming 'SUBsidence' compilation to be released on Touchin' Bass in May.
To put it simply, Cultek provide the last word in dark, deep electronics. Through their intense, focused live show, they will give you nightmares... but good ones... :)
